Coca-Cola’s attempt to make drinking their product a more personal experience was successful until it allowed users on it’s website to enter names and messages onto virtual cans. The controversy surrounding the banning of the word, ‘gay’ on the virtual cans prompted the company to take down the website.

Writing the word ‘gay’ into the service returns the error message “Oops. Let’s pretend you didn’t just type that. Please try another name,” however, no doubt to the annoyance of the literally thousands of people whose first or last name is Gay. The words,’Hetero’ and ‘Straight’ were allowed.

Coca-Cola is a sponsor of the Sochi Winter Olympics, amid growing concern about Russia’s gay rights record.

Coca-Cola has since issued an apology: “The digital version of the Share a Coke promotion did not properly limit the customization to individuals’ names,” a spokesman said.”As one of the world’s most inclusive brands, we value and celebrate diversity. We have long been a strong supporter of the LGBT community and have advocated for inclusion, equality and diversity through both our policies and practices. Again we apologize for any offense this has caused.

Aqua Carbonated – this is sparkling water. It stirs gastric secretion, increases the acidity of the gastric juice and provokes flatulency – plenty evolution of gases. Furthermore, spring water is not used, but is used regular filtered water.

E150D – food coloring, obtained through the processing of sugar at specified temperatures, with or without addition of chemical reagents. In the case with coca-cola, ammonium sulfate is added.

E952 – Sodium Cyclamate is a sugar substitute. Cyclamate is a synthetic chemical, has sweet taste, which is 200 times sweeter than sugar, and is used as an artificial sweetener. In 1969 it was banned by FDA, since it as well as saccharin and aspartame, caused cancer in rats’ urinary bladder. In 1975, prohibition seized also Japan, South Korea and Singapore. In 1979, WHO (World Health Organization), “who knows why?” rehabilitated cyclamates and recognizing them as safe.

E950 – Acesulfame Potassium. 200 times sweeter than sugar, containing methyl ether, where it aggravates the operation of the cardiovascular system. Likewise, it contains asparaginic acid which can also cause excitant effect on our nervous system and in time it can lead to addiction. Acesulfame is badly dissolved and is not recommended for use by children and pregnant women.

E951 – Aspartame. A sugar substitute for diabetics and is chemically unstable: at elevated temperature it breaks down into methanol and phenylalanine. Methanol is very dangerous: 5-10ml can cause destruction of the optic nerve and irreversible blindness. In warm soft drinks, aspartame transforms into formaldehyde which is very strong carcinogen. Some number of cases with aspartame poisoning include: unconsciousness, headaches, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, palpitation, weight gain, irritability, anxiety, memory loss, blurry vision, fainting, joint pains, depression, fertility, hearing loss and etc. Aspartame can also provoke the following diseases: brain tumors, MS (Multiple Sclerosis), epilepsy, Graves’ disease, chronic fatigue, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, mental deficiency and tuberculosis.

E338 – Orthophosphoric Acid. This can cause irritation of skin and eyes. It is used for production of phosphoric acid salts of ammonia, sodium, calcium, aluminum and also in organic synthesis for production of charcoal and film tapes, for production of refractory materials, ceramics, glass, fertilizers, synthetic detergents, medicine, metalworking, and textile and oil industries. Food orthophosphoric acid is used in the production of carbonated water and for preparation of ingredients in pastry. It is known that orthophosphoric acid interfere with the absorption of calcium and iron from the body, which can cause weakening of bones and osteoporosis. Other side effects are thirst and skin rashes.

E330 – Citric Acid. It is widely spread in nature and is used in pharmaceutical and food industries. Salts of citric acid (citrates) are used in food industry as acids, preservatives, stabilizers, and in medical fields – for preserving blood.

Aromas – unknown aromatic additives

E211 – Sodium Benzoate. It is used in production of some food products, as an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal agent. These products refer to jams, fruit juices and fruit yoghurts. It’s not recommended for use by asthmatics and people who are sensitive to aspirin. A study conducted by Peter Piper at the Sheffield University in Britain, found that this compound causes significant damage to DNA. According to his words, sodium benzoate which is an active component in preservatives doesn’t destroy DNA, but deactivating it. This can lead to cirrhosis and degenerative diseases like Parkinson’s disease.

So, what turns out? Well, it turns out that “the secret recipe” of coca-cola is just one advertising play. What kind of secret may be there, when it’s well known to us that this is a weak solution of cocaine with preservatives, colorants, stabilizers and etc. I.e., this is legalized cocaine addiction plus pure poison. Diet Coke is even worse, because the aspartame in it, replaces sugar, becoming pure neurotoxic poison.

So, if you can’t imagine a life without coca-cola, take advantage of the following recommendations:

- Many distributors of coca-cola in U.S use this drink for cleaning their truck engines.

-Many police officers in U.S have bottles of coca-cola in their cars and when a car accident happens, they wash the blood out of the road with it.

- In India, some farmers use coca-cola instead of pesticides for pest extermination, because it’s cheaper and the effect is completely satisfying.

So, coca-cola undeniably is a very useful product. The key is to be used for intended purposes, but not for drinking!

Molodoi Dalnevostochnik, the oldest publication in the Khabarovsk region of Russia, came under fire because of an article about a school teacher allegedly fired because he was gay. The story titled “A History About Gay-ography,” was published in September.

The editor in chief, Alexander Suturin was fined 50,000 rubles ($1,400) under Russia’s anti-LGBT “propaganda” law.

This is the first time since the introduction of anti-gay propaganda legislation was introduced that a media outlet was formally charged. The law prohibits informing underage children about the “attractiveness of nontraditional sexual relationships” and giving them “distorted ideas about social equality of traditional and nontraditional sexual relationships.”

Molodoi Dalnevostochnik came under fire because it bears a label warning people only above the age of 16 to visit its website. The law passed in June prohibited “promotion of nontraditional sexual relations among minors.” The age of majority in Russia is 18.

President Vladimir Putin continues to claim that the law does not amount to discrimination of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual community.

Blue Cross and Shield of North Carolina has announced that the insurer will offer family health insurance plans to same-sex couples and domestic partnerships beginning on March 1st.

Although North Carolina does not recognize same-sex marriages, Blue Cross recognizes marriages or partnerships as defined by the federal government.

This announcement was made because of the attention the insurer received after it was learned that the company cancelled family coverage to 20 gay and lesbian couples on a federal insurance marketplace. The cancellations were supposedly forced because of language in the contracts that defined “spouse” a “opposite sex.” The company then offered individual policies to the couples until the changes were made to the contracts.

On Wednesday, BCBSNC President and CEO Brad Wilson released a statement apologizing for the companies inconsideration. “In order to ensure that our technology was ready for the Affordable Care Act, our company chose to postpone a number of product updates until 2015,” he said. “One of these was to begin making family coverage available to same-sex married couples and domestic partners (same-sex or opposite-sex) in our ACA-approved plans. “We should have more thoughtfully considered this decision, with full appreciation of the impact it would have on same-sex married couples and domestic partners. We’re sorry we failed to do so.”

Domestic partners and same-sex married couples who were forced to enroll separately on ACA plans can convert them into family plans retroactive to their original effective date, according to BCBSNC.

This is clearly a victory for North Carolina LGBT residents.

Did ya hear the latest outburst from the crybabies at the National Organization for Marriage (NOM)?  Seems they’re upset that Obama invited former NBA player Jason Collins to sit in the First Lady’s box during the State of the Union last night. Collins’ made history last year when he came out as gay – a first for an active NBA player. But NOM disagreed – and instead they insist there’s “nothing heroic” about Collins.

In attacking Collins, NOM further lamented “having his sexuality shoved at us by the man that Newsweek dubbed, “the first gay President.”

Poor babies.  They’re losing the battle so now all they can do is bellow into the void.

When a lesbian couple living in New York decided to have a child, they went through all legal steps to protect their family. They got legally married before the child was conceived, and when the child was born they made sure both of their names were on the child’s birth certificate. They are also residents of New York State, which recognizes the parental rights of the non biological parent of a child conceived through artificial insemination.

Even though they were legally married months before the child was born, the non-bio mom started the adoption process. She submitted all the paperwork, including a criminal background check. financial documents and had a social worker inspect their household.

The case went before Brooklyn Surrogate Court Judge Margarita López Torres on January 6th, who denied their request saying it was redundant. A parent cannot adopt their own child. This is the first time we’ve heard of a Judge treating gay and lesbian parents who have a child after their marriage the same as they would treat a heterosexual couple who have a child after their marriage.

“Beware if you should go out of state,” warned their attorney, Joseph Milizio. “If the child and the biological parent were injured and could not make health-care decisions, then the only person who could make decisions would be the biological parent,” he said.

Judge Torres acknowledged the “tectonic shifts occurring in the geography of our culture’s definition of family,” and concluded that “the relief sought herein by the petitioner is neither necessary nor available.” Regarding health care providers in other states not respecting their relationship, she said that was an issue for the courts in those states to settle. Moreover, she wrote that granting the adoption would mean that “true marriage equality remains yet to be attained” and that “a same-sex marriage remains somehow insufficient to establish a parent-child relationship.”

“I understand why there are all these fears that a lot of couples have — I get that, and it’s more than an unfortunate situation — but I just think the remedy is not to start treating same-sex couples differently,” the judge added.

Carol L. Buell, a lawyer who specializes in same-sex-marriage issues, said an adoption approved by a judge carries more weight in other jurisdictions than does the presumption of parentage based on a marriage or birth certificate. That is especially true in states or countries that do not recognize same-sex marriage.

It was learned that the couple has plans to travel outside the country to visit family in the near future.

If we were their attorney’s and we were worried about them traveling then we would advise them to carry a copy of this judge’s decision. What is the difference and adoption order or a judge’s ruling that they are both legal parents? If they have to fight for their rights, both pieces of paper have equal weight.

The Kansas House’s Federal and State Affairs Committee is meeting today to consider a bill that protects individuals, groups and businesses who wish to discriminate against same-sex married couples for religious reasons.

Kansas state Rep. Charles Macheers, the legislator pushing the bill says it’s designed to protect religious freedom amid an uncertain legal climate after Federal judges in Oklahoma and Utah recently struck down those states’ bans.

Said Republican Gov. Sam Brownback: “I think it’s something we that need to protect, our people’s religious liberties and religious rights.”

The Kansas bill says no individual, business or religious group with sincerely held religious beliefs could be required by any government agency to provide services, facilities, goods, employment or employment benefits for a same-sex marriage or domestic partnership. The measure also would bar anti-discrimination lawsuits.

Critics of the bill say it promotes discrimination against gays and lesbians. Ya think?

In a state that already bans same-sex marriage by statute, the Indiana House attempted to amend it’s state constitution with hopes of making it less likely to be nullified by state courts.

Unlike the outcome in 2011, when both chambers unanimously approved the measure, the House voted 52-43 to removed the amendment’s second sentence, which explicitly banned civil unions and other marriage-like arrangements for same-sex couples. That leaves only the first sentence, which would still ban gay marriages.

If approved by both chambers of the General Assembly, the removal of the 2nd sentence would mean the measure would not go to the ballot in November. The full House is expected to vote on the altered resolution next Tuesday.

Although gay marriage is still on the ticket, opponents see this as an important victory.

“Today’s vote to remove some of the extremist language in the proposed constitutional ban on marriage in Indiana is a welcome step back from the brink,” said Evan Wolfson, founder and president of the pro-equality group Freedom to Marry, in a press release. “This offers the possibility that Indiana’s families will not be subjected to a harsh campaign and offensive ballot-measure that would add cruel and unconstitutional language to Indiana’s state constitution.” However, as the amendment would still deny marriage rights to same-sex couples, it remains “deeply flawed” and “merits defeat,” Wolfson said.

An important thing to note in this case is that opinions are shifting on both sides of the aisle. Nearly two dozen Indiana House Republicans bucked their leadership to strip that sentence.  Some of them have the wisdom to see the writing on the wall.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield, North Carolina’s largest insurer has cancelled the family insurance policies of 20 same-sex couples in the state because of standard language in the insurer’s individual policies that define “spouse” as “opposite sex.” State Insurance Departments spokeswoman, Kelly Hall told the Fayette Observer that Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina were legally bound to invalidate the policies.

Although couples will just face the inconvenience of having to purchase two policies instead of one, it underscores the indignation and discrimination that same-sex couples have to experience in non-equality states such as North Carolina.

BCBS is offering gay couples individual plans until the restrictive contract language is removed. But the good news is that some of the couples who had to switch to individual policies are paying less than they did with a family plan.

Right now, the only other insurer selling subsidized coverage on North Carolina’s federally run insurance marketplace is Coventry Health, which doesn’t bar same-sex couples from buying a family policy.

Another key vote is scheduled this afternoon at the Statehouse for a proposed constitutional amendment that further defines marriage. The full House is slated to take up the divisive issue.

Indiana banned same-sex marriage in 1986, and in 1997 it refused to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states. But same-sex marriage opponents have pushed for enshrining the ban in the state constitution in recent years.

HJR-3 (formerly HJR-6) is a proposed amendment that would permanently alter the Indiana Constitution to define marriage and could potentially affect hundreds of rights related to marriage under current Indiana law. Not only does HJR-3 infringe on the civil rights of same-sex couples, it violates the separation of church and state by basing it’s rationale on religious beliefs. The First Amendment’s Establishment Clause expressly prohibits the government from akin any law respecting an establishment of religion.

Same-sex marriage is already illegal in Indiana by statute. Passing HJR-3 is overkill. But they are pushing it with the hopes that it will make the ban permanent. Plus it would not only define marriage as a union only between one man and one woman, it also has language that stays “a legal status identical or substantially similar to that of marriage for unmarried individuals shall not be valid or recognized.”

In other words, HJR-3 would effectively prohibit the state from authorizing or even recognizing civil unions in the future, and it would forbid employee benefits for same-sex couples. It also could invalidate powers or attorney, such as medical directives, because it gives the person you appoint marriage-like authority to make decisions for you.

Oklahoma State Rep. Mike Turner (R-Edmond) almost gets it. Equality in the eyes of the law is what Americans expect from our government. However, in response to a federal court ruling that Oklahoma’s same-sex marriage ban is unconstitutional discrimination, he wants to skirt the equal protection argument by banning all marriages in the state!

He told a local TV station that the idea has the backing of other conservative lawmakers, and could be achieved through a shell bill he filed in the state legislature. “[My constituents are] willing to have that discussion about whether marriage needs to be regulated by the state at all,” Turner said.

Turner admits his idea makes a lot of people uncomfortable. He also says, “I accept that.” Turner plans to wait until the federal appeals process plays out. The fight over Oklahoma’s ban on same-sex marriage will now head to the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver.

Oklahoma tried and failed at a similar tactic in November to avoid granting military benefits to same-sex spouses, by stopping spousal benefits for all married couples at state National Guard facilities.
