15-month-old girl would be better off being adopted by a

anti-gay group in West Virginia has released an online ad
that depicts gays as snipers by showing a dual-gender couple
and their children in the crosshairs of rifle scope.

A West Virginia family argues that their
prospective adoptive daughter should not be taken from their
home and placed with a "traditional" family simply because
the couple that has cared for the infant since her birth are
two women.
10/16/08. The Family Policy Council of West Virginia told
the governor on Oct. 9 that he had until Wednesday to agree
to call the Legislature into session. The conservative group
cites polling it commissioned of around 500 registered
voters that it says found 73 percent supported an amendment
defining marriage as a "union of one man and one woman."

West Virginia lawmakers argued about cross-dressing
office workers, drag queen school teachers and the
prevalence of HIV among gay people before advancing
legislation to add sexual orientation to the state's
Human Rights and Fair Housing acts.

Charleston officials said Monday they want to make the
capital city open to everyone, and that’s why the City
Council added sexual orientation to the list of ways
businesses cannot discriminate against people.
